Dynatrace, one of the largest software companies in the world, has opened its new offices in Torre Glòries in Barcelona. Through PLANET Architects, who designed all the new offices, I was commissioned to paint a mural at the entrance of it.
The concept of the mural is based mainly on the mythological character of the Greek titan Atlas. A corpulent man who holds the Heavens, a huge sphere, and who makes possible the existence of the World and all of us in it.
In my own interpretation of the character, I linked what Dynatrace does in its day-to-day business (making its clients’ websites work perfectly, monitoring that all users and their experiences and the servers that contain them never fail, and so on…), this one holds a large cube instead of the usual celestial sphere. The cube symbolizes perfection and order, an ideal (we know that in Nature there are no straight lines) that could exchange eavh other with the abstraction that the digital world supposes.
When entering the space from the main entrance, there are many hardware pieces and circuits, science fiction referential objects and many geometric objects that flow through the air towards Atlas, as if the big cube was being built. From chaos to order, from instability to stability, concepts that emphasize the narrative of what the main character represents.
